‘The Badger’ to vie at Realtime filmfest in Nigeria

Iranian movie ‘The Badger’ is slated to vie at the Realtime International Film Festival (RTF) in Nigeria.

Directed by Kazem Mollaee, the film will represent Iran at the 2021 edition of the event.

The movie narrates the story of a 40-year-old woman, played by Vishka Asayesh, who is facing a difficult challenge in her private life.

Soudeh’s 11-year-old son, Matiar, gets kidnapped as she is about to start a second marriage. After considerable search and effort, Soudeh decides to ask for the ransom money from her ex-husband, Peyman. How much will this incident challenge her certainties?

The RTF aims, “To build a truly International, all-inclusive and remotely accessible Film Festival”. It champions an artistic baseline where equity and openness are enhanced among creative artists, filmmakers and film enthusiasts.

The 6th edition of the event will launch both physically and virtually on July 20-21, 2021.
